We were warmly greeted by Elisabeth and Hartwig in their large guest house that's been in their family since it was built. They spoke English well, showed us around the apartment, shared a Schnapps, and answered all our questions. Elisabeth is for sure a "top 10" owner and manager in all my experiences as are the accommodations. We are here for a week and she has gone out of her way to make our stay very wonderful. The surrounding countryside is magnificent for walks and enjoying nature. I would stay here again in a heartbeat; I may even move in forever!

We stayed for one night in August as a base for hiking. On arrival the owner greeted us and gave us advise on the facilities in town and after enquiring about our plans for the next day, gave us some very good advise for hiking trips. We were due to check out the following morning but were told that as the apartment would be empty the next day, we could check out whenever we were ready after our day trip. This apartment is in a lovely location and run by very nice people and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an Alpine base in Austria.||||Pros||- Very friendly and helpful owner who provides advice and information on the local area and trip ideas.||- Very clean, well stocked apartment. Kitchenware and toiletries provided.||- Central location in Maria Alm.||- Approx 20 metres from the Information Centre.||- Approx 30 metres from the Main Square.||- Bakery across the road from the apartment is open 7 days a week.||- Balcony with morning sun and mountain views.||- Parking to rear of apartment included.||- Card for discount on local attractions and free use of local busses and cable cars included in price.||||Cons||- None 🙂

We only spent one night and would have loved more time to hike and explore. The apartment was very comfortable - positively palatial after several days of tiny Italian hotel rooms - and felt very homey, complete with a friendly personal greeting on a blackboard by the front door. It is a beautiful area and we wished we'd had more time to explore. There was no breakfast but there was a restaurant and a bakery right next door.

Stayed a week, 18th to 26th December.||As we were moving from a hotel in the area, we arrived early, but could not book in until 15:00, as stated in the booking.||Spent the waiting period at the babylift Natrun. Our 4 year old was learning to ski.||||I could copy all the pros from the other review and fully endorse them! There are no cons that I can see. ||||just walking in you could see this was a great place to stay and looking around for 30 minutes at what was supplied we just knew we would be back one day.||||The owner showed us the room and on seeing our son was only 4, brought down a box of Lego for him to use. Also put out few sleds to use after skiing. [May not be part of the normal service, but I was impressed with the thoughtfulness.] He referred to her as his friend for the rest of the stay and had talk to her at least once a day.||||Showed where the wood was if we wanted a fire.||||The kitchen was stocked with starter ingredients & utensils. Tea, Sugar & instant coffee. The coffee machine had filters! There was a bit of cooking oil and other odds & ends. the stuff you cannot buy in small quantities and do not need a lot of for a week.||||Told us about all the local attractions. Supplied us with the local attraction card, which the local hotel (5km away) did not.||||The owner was always friendly and our boy visited her a few times. When he decided he needed to bake some biscuits, the owner lent him cookie cutters and a few backing utensils. ||||Our room did not have a balcony on looked out on the street, still brilliant for looking at the horses pulling the slay. There were ear plugs, but we never needed them.||The rooms were warm and cosy, had to open a window to cool down sometimes if we made a fire.||||The ski bus stops just +- 20 meters from the apartments, though we used our car. The ski shop that is part of the building gives a discount, used them for ski services only. ||Ski store in the building with boot warmers.||||We will be back!

My wife and I stayed here on a whirlwind trip through Bavaria & Tyrol/Salzburg. It was so wonderful, we wished we had booked more nights here!||||Elisabeth, the owner, was wonderfully friendly and spent some time with us. Her advice and stories were very helpful. ||||The apartment is quite large, with multiple rooms. It was very clean and very comfortable.||||I highly recommend staying here!

12 juni-15 juni 2019. Heerlijk ruim appartement aan de dorpsstraat. Deze is overdag druk maar wordt 's avonds rustiger. Fijne bedden en een ruim balkon met goede stoelen. Ligging is prima tegenover een bakker en restaurants in de dorpsstraat. Super uitgangspunt voor mooie dagtochten en wandelingen! Hostess is zeer gastvrij en geeft veel informatie over de buurt. Top verblijf gehad!
